He rings or knocks to announce he is here. The children run to see if he is near.

On the porch you find a gift and feathers, as he’s too quick to spot. The Grateful Turkey is quick as a flash, and has yet to be caught!

But he will ALWAYS leave a gift to play. Memories, connections
and love for Thanksgiving Day.

“Our daughter has spent the last 30 minutes before bed brainstorming how to try and catch the Grateful Turkey. We are loving this new tradition. So thankful for these memories.”

“The Grateful Turkey was such fun. Our friends delivered the gift when they arrived on Thanksgiving Day and claimed they found it on their porch. It was a fun game using wrapped cellophane. It has us all laughing so hard. Thank you for the clever gift to bring our families together.”

The Grateful Turkey Tradition

Origin Story

The story of The Grateful Turkey is one that symbolizes the shared joy, love and togetherness that families experience on Thanksgiving Day. Today’s world is full of distractions, and families often miss opportunities to make connections, but one dad wanted to change this. Back in the early 2000s, he deliberately created The Grateful Turkey as a fun way to give his family a thoughtful, meaningful gift each year – one that would allow them to come together, connect and make memories on Thanksgiving Day.

Each year, The Grateful Turkey announces his arrival (sometimes with a knock, a ring of the bell, or a loud Gobble, Gobble) and leaves a small gift by the door for the entire family to enjoy. Legos, models and board games are examples of simple gifts that the entire family can enjoy together!

To welcome The Grateful Turkey to your home, simply place the sign out on Thanksgiving Eve. Place feathers near the gift, and then create a fun, unique way for your Grateful Turkey to announce his arrival!

Happy Thanksgiving!
